Wellnessway, logo restyle
Restyle of the logo for Wellness Way: wholly beautiful.
Wellness Way is a Singapore-based online magazine, started in 2013, dedicated to all of those who are looking for wellness in their life: not only for the impact their lifestyle has on earth, but for themselves as well. As its audience started to grow, the logo for Wellness Way needed to be restyled for its world-wide audience.
More clean and elegant than ever.
The restyle of the logo for Wellness Way is based on a simple yet really effective choice: making the logotype more compact. To do so the kerning between the letters has been fixed from metrical to optical and the double slash has been removed. The font used is Harabara [now updated into Harabara Mais] and this has not been changed in the restyle of the logo for Wellness Way.
LOGO// vs LOGO for Wellness Way
The core of the restyling in the logo for Wellness Way has been the redesign of the mark: integrating the double slashes into the first letter of the magazine’s name.
The W shape has also been redesigned to give a more consistent look to the logotype: the corners have been rounded to match the feeling given by the other letters in “wellnessway”. This choice lead to a mark that was able to represent and summarise the whole logo for Wellness Way into a single letter.
What was the comment from Wellness Way about the logo restyle?
The logo for Wellness Way was created by another designer, but it somehow lacked finesse and felt “heavy”. Wellness Way required a “softer” logo that reflects the spiritual awareness of our content.
I approached Milo to refine the logo and icon. With the brief to make it “softer”, he came up with our current look that is still elegant yet distinct in look.
